Hey there everyone, I'm back and I've got a neat thing for everyone to see.

As you will see from the Artist's Comments on the link-to-come, this idea just sprung up from nothing one day while I was at work or something. The meaning is as follows (copied from the dA page):

I just think it's funny that people who really love and appreciate bugs and collect them are willing to capture them from their natural habitat, suffocate them in a jar of ether, then stab a long needle through their back and pin them to a box with a bunch of other bug carcasses.

Don't get me wrong, I don't really give a crap if people do that, it's just an example of how paradoxical we, as humans, sometimes express passion for certain things or people.

And now, the link:

If you want to see the picture in more detail, click the Download button to the left of the image. The original size is almost 5500 pixels wide.

I also submitted this as my first t-shirt design at Threadless.com which is pending approval right now.

Nice work you got there, I can't honestly see a major problem which spoils it at all. Shadows look pitch perfect, the quality is good from the view [I haven't downloaded it, sorry]. Overall, Nice job! (y)

Nicely done. I would sugest one thing that I noticed right away. Put a shadow with layer blending options or in inner shadow or somthing where the pin goes into the bug. It would look more real. Because its almost impossible to pin a bug that perfectly. It could be very small, but add a lot.

Actually the bugs shadow is outside if the image if you look at the light sources angle.

Its well made but im not getting any wOOh feeling from looking at it, maby supersaturating the highlighted zones would help. Cant put my finger on it im afraid.. Its just something that not there. But still its very will made. :P

Well there is a little bit of roughness and "wound" around the pin entry point, it's just kinda small and you can't see it well unless you view full size image. I've never personally pinned a bug so I don't know much about it, but any info will do as I'd like to make this as good as I can.

I did, however, notice one very detrimental flaw that I can't believe I forgot. There is no cast shadow from the pin on the ladybug's back XD.

And Dance, I would be quite lucky to get any kind of wOOh feeling from anyone :) I don't even get one myself. That would be cool to create something like that though. I'll test out the saturation thing, thanks :]

There is a close-up version. When you get to the deviantArt page, click Download on the left of the picture.
