Yah, I'm going to have to agree. Flash intro's are not things that people use anymore...they typically just annoy. If you're going to be dropping a Flash intro, you've got to be very, very good, and that intro you make has to be mind blowing.

You'll probably have more of an impact with your website if you make it simple. Don't worry about doing all this crazy stuff. Just a small, simple showcase of your work. Thats all a portfolio should be. Have you ever seen a print portfolio thats made of shiny aluminum foil, with little blinking lights all over it and a spinning twirly thing on the back? Nope. When you make a portfolio with all sorts of crazy stuff on it, you're doing pretty much the same thing. Build your portfolio to emphasize the content you are showing off.

make the lock unlock in about 3 seconds, spinning really fast back and forth. Then have it automatically enter the site, dont make the user click it. I think it should all take place in about 7 seconds total otherwise you might have a lot of people who do not want to wait for all of the flash animations and end up exiting.

When offering Flash intros you should ALWAYS offer a way to skip it. Some people don't like watching them and dial up often it takes forever loading them.

You remind me of many people I've talked with Willowz. You have great ideas...truly! But if you want a successful website you need to pick one idea and theme it through, not try to use them all...you'll get a much more fluid and professional looking site.

Thankyou for your comments!

I will edit the vault and make it a bit more smoother and quicker.

ARCHANGEL:

Thankyou for your words, they have inspired me a fair bit, I was thinking about creating the skip button that culd take you straight to the index2.html page, which is probably a good idea.

Cheers guys!

You have to ask yourself what people are at your site for. They are there for the content so everything you do should be to make their life getting to the content easier.

Lose the flash intro :D

Yea I see where your coming from but I need to prove to my target audience that i CAN do a better job with their design requirements better than anyone else. You see what I mean. So I try make my site as "Flash" and as "showy off" as good as i can.
