htaccess wont work

well i wanna rewrite an URL

so it appears in the browser as www.site.com/page but it really is www.site.com/index.php?view=page

ive tried every different thing on the planet but it just wont work...

so can someone help me?

Please do a forum search for mod_rewrite, this is a very frequent question, plaese use the forum search, if your still having issues please start a new post.
