The topsite is working fine to my knowledge, the reason your site may not be appearing is that each site is manually validated by the topsite manager (Neil).
As you say you have recently joined, i would suspect this is the reason. Give it a few hours
(also bear in mind Neil is Austrailian i believe, so everything +12)

All sites need to be approved by Neil, yours was still in the approval list pending. I've just approved this for you so you should find it now.
