LOS ANGELES – Paris Hilton was released from a Los Angeles County jail early Thursday because of an unspecified medical problem and will fulfill the reminder of her sentence in home confinement, a sheriff's spokesman said.

The 26-year-old hotel heiress was sent home shortly after 2 a.m. fitted with an electronic monitoring bracelet. She had spent five days at the Century Regional Detention Facility in suburban Los Angeles for violating probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

Pfft I hate her even more now :)

Wow... You know, letting her get off with her actions like this sends a bad message to everyone. They are pretty much saying don't drink and drive, but if you do, don't worry, all you get in this nifty anklette!

Lol, they seriously need stricter laws. It is more than abnormal that she got off that easy... All drunken drivers shall be in prison some time... Ok, she had a healt problem... Isn't there an hospital in prison? :S

Yet, another example of the weakness of the judiciary system. The power of money overthrows the greater good. It's because of idiots like her (sorry for her fans) that we get discredited on the international scene. How can we now say to the world that our system is the best compared to some fanatics when we can't even apply it in our own countries... sad day, sad day...

lol it's probably all the media and people sending her flowers the prison couldn't handle it, or unspecified medical problem - she needed another drink and they couldn't serve her in prison.

This will cause an uproar in courts when others get sent to prison for drunk and reckless driving.

this is ridiculous...she deserves to be in jail, not sitting in the luxury of her own home enjoying herself.

just ridiculous.
