Very nice mate, especially for your first website! I would say it could do with a bit of tweeking but at the moment I believe u shuld keep up the good work your producing and focus on taking one step at a time.. If your looking to create much more involved templates and wanna go that one step further may i request you view some of the templates posted on here or even take inspiration from the ones off Template Monster as they produce high quality designs.

Back to your design, I love the way you've introduced them margin lines it looks great! The over design with the content boxes is a bit tacky and could use a bit of tweeking, For example i wouldn't advise using Rounded edge content boxes INSIDE of a rectangle, looks unprofesional, try to keep it the same style throughout also.

If you have any problems or queries let me know mate.

Regards

First website? Very well done my friend!

I agree with Will0wz, it's great but needs a bit of work (as I'm sure you've expected).

One of the things I would like to mention is the colours, the cyan, light blue and dark blue look a bit off together. Try sticking to a similar colour hue and making things darker or lighter. Or using a very good web based application known as Adobe Kuler (http://kuler.adobe.com) for some great colour schemes!

Another thing would be the typefaces, personally for my content's font I use Verdana 11px with no anti-aliasing. The decorative text needs some detail aswell. Also try making the header's characters uppercase.

I like what you have done with the gradient in the corner of the margins, that is very effective!

Remember it's all in the details!

I hope this helps,
- Adam

You have done an excellent job at your first website! That's unbelievable!

But yeah, take the advice given already in this topic -- Personally I'd love to see some more colour variation in the template, as it's looking a little boring.

A good first try. But you've still got a long way to go. Good luck :P
