Heya people,

alrighty, here goes..
i have a corel image file, and it has a little white square box in the bottom right corner.
What im trying to do is enter a serial number as a ticket number in that box, for it is to be cut and fixed into tickets. The problem is now, that i must make about 1000 tickets, and im really not in the mood and i dont have the time to sit there and type the numbers in manually for each ticket, as Nr. 01 for the first ticket, Nr. 02 for second tiucket etc.. There will be about 5 copies of the image on each A3 page, which is to be cut afterwards into the small tickets. Can someone gimme a tutorial on how to do it? I use corel 11 and any way or hint is greatful.

Thanks a lot

Daniel.

I dont know about corel apps of if they have any kind of built in function of what you wish to do. However i do know that its doable via Microsoft excel and adobe InDesign. I havnt done this myself either but according to my source you can if you make a excel document with the list of numbers and save it as "a tab-delimited .txt file or comma-delimited .csv file" and import the image into indesign, you can with the excel file and a inDesign application function called "data merge" put the image and the variable text together.

Thats all in the help files of indesign though, under "data merge"

Yeh that does work,
sort of like a mail merge
and it's easy to make the numbers go from 1 to 1000 in excel
write 1, 2 , 3 in different cels the higlight them and clcik the bottom right corner and drag it down this works with dates and days as well.
