Well I have 2 computers. Both have windows XP installed on them. I mostly use one computer. Is there anyway I can see the screen of the other computer while its being used and without any indication of the viewing.

Plz post any comments you have!!!

So what you are saying here is that you want to spy on the person on the other computer. Not nice.
But there are a heap of local network administration apps out there that can do this. Just do a search on a SE for network monitoring.

But if you are intending to spy on the other user of that system it is not really ethical in my books.

Use something like VNC? but if you don't want them to know then you will need to delve into some other things ;) like the the guy said above theres alot of network tools around but most of them need services running on the other comp that can be easily disabled.

No not all of them. I use to use one (forgot the name) when I was in charge of a large education network to check on what students were doing when the warning bells went off. They did not know I was checking and they also did not know how the hell that illegal network app suddenly closed. LOL.

So they are out there.

VNC is a good app that is compatible on all the platforms (*nix, Mac and Windows).

This one is the one i was talking about http://www.realvnc.com/ i find this one has better options and safer but its commercial.

Another little neat tool to use for your network is network magic, first one i ever tried and still use it today sometimes :)

well I downloaded the zip archive for VNC Personal Edition Viewer for Windows (x86, x64 & ia64)
Version 4.2.8
Stand-alone Viewer

It works fine but I don't understand what to do. In one drop-down box it says server but when clicked, the drop-down button does nothing. What am I supposed to put in this box?

Install the viewer on your comp and install the server on the comp you want to monitor, then you can connect to them using the internal IP like 10.0.0.2 as long as the server service is running on the other comp and the appropriate rules are set within any firewall you have on both comps.

i use VNC its great,

as above just install the server on the other puter, one thing to watch for, if you have the quick launch icon on your tool bar then it will go black when you access the machine (its normally green)

Also, by default VNC will remove the background image of the puter you are viewing, you'll need to disable that in options, and finally, you should know this, obviously your machine will overide the mouse of the target machine so dont mouse around lol.
