I placed this here as not sure where else to place it. But if in wrong place my bad.. and just move it

Ok I have installed CentOS and chose the options of mysql, php and apache but ?? nothing works.

I am absolutely new to this and just want to get my development server using the same as my hoster.

Has anyone here setup a web server with CentOS or Redhat (I think that Cent is based on Redhad).

I am totally lost here.

Why not just use xampp or something similar?

For 2 reasons really unknown.
1. I hate windows as much as I hate itunes.
2. I want to have my development server as close to my hoster as I can.
After all 95% of hosters these days use Linux so to me it makes more sense to have a development server the same as what you are developing for.

Anyway all sussed now and up and running like the wind, so to speak LOL.
