Not much to it. I like I you zoomed way in on his armor for the BG (at least that's what it looks like).
Maybe a little more contrast and finding a unique way to work in the scanlines instead of just throwing them on top?

its sort of simple.. try adding a few effects. Also take away about half of the scanlines. Other than that it looks good. 6/10, but if you do some of those things 8/10
