Ok, So I want to take a video and cover up the figures in a solid color but still have the movie play and the figures move like normal. Just they are going to be a solid color.

How would I go about doing this?

The easiest way is to set the shot up with a greenscreen/bluescreen and then make a alpha from the color information that you use as a solid. If you don't have access to a G/B -screen than you need to basically rotoscope out the shape/alpha of the character for the entire length of the clip using the shapes/vector tool native to your app, a extremely time consuming and tedious process i assure you. Apps to be recommended is either adobe after effects or autodesk combustion.

I plan on using a pre-filmed video.. So yea that pen tool and tracing each movement is what I thought is how to accomplish this.
