and now the both of us are wondering if it is possible to make the white bckground transparent but without loosing the cool shadow effect of both the ant and the text. so it would look like its directly posted on the forum background.

is there away to do this with photoshop or any other program?

Get rid of the white bg and save it as a PNG...? IE does not support PNG's too well though so it may not work.

Most browsers now support PNG, but i think only IE supports the tru transparency (I could be wrong). Another option would be to save it as a transparent GIF using Save For Web and set the "Matte" color to the background color of the page you're going to use it in. ;)
