Heres a template that I designed, It's still semi-finished but I thought I'd stick it up now as it's done already.. I'm thinking about using it as my default template on my personal designs website. What do you think of it? What can be improved? What could be taken away if its TO detailed. Let me know your honest opinion <3

Cheers guys
Will0wz

EDIT:
Just to confirm, the blank space on the right is going to be used for skyscraper advertisements. Adsense, Ad rotator etc.

The Orb thingy is faaat too big and I don't like the scanlines in the navigation. If you could fix that the navigation would look pretty cool. But will the background work for monitors with bigger resolution?

I agree with the orb thingy but I was tryna to emphasize on the company name you see.. I'll remove the scan lines, And I'm going to resize it all to fit in a 800x600

Even though I agree with what's already been said, I must say that you're graphic design skills have improved somewhat tremendously! It's a really nice effect that you have on the orb... but yeah, maybe scale it down a little :g[1]:

I'd suggest you try a different font. I think every single one of your designs have used the same one. Do a Google search for 'web typography' and see what comes up. Experiment a bit. It'll kick your designs up another notch.

HAHA Well noted, I'm such a poor font selector I just use "Danube" as my default! I'll give this template some work and we'll see what happens

u got the skill but i think there is certain things for you to take note.
When designing a website ,
1st you must know whether the stuff fix into the viewer screen ( avoid scrolling if posible for small website ) The header is far too big

2nd the impact of the graphic , no one will feel the impact of your website if it is too simple
Make some pattern or things on ur graphic that caught the viewer attention

( Shh... I once saw a gaming website with 3 bikini babes on the head , they are real hot .... they caught my attention though by bad technique ,...)

Nah man, make an impact with your content. A nice design might get you some visits from people, but thats not the kind of traffic you want. You want to essentially create a fan base. A group of people who come back to your site again and again because you offer *good* stuff. Once you see a good design once, you'll rarely go back. If a site has some killer content, you'll go back again and again. Over the long run, good content will get you more traffic than good design.

Take p2l, do YOU visit because you like the design? I'd be just as happy coming here with the graphics turned off on my pc.

I'm afraid that argument works both ways aswell, I doubt you'd visit an awfully designed website (back background, bright yellow text, for example) much either.

Instead of thinking of your website as DESIGN + CONTENT, think of your job as DESIGNING THE CONTENT.

This is what will make a good impact on the reader.

I think the header area is way too big, and also I don't like the background on the orb.
