I'm not sure if this was already mentioned since I haven't read every post in this thread, but I do miss the button where I can check the last two threads I posted in from the home page. When I used to check P2L rather briefly, I would just hit that button, see if anyone posted in the thread following my post, and if so, check it out. Now, I need to either sort through the New Posts, or go to my profile, click on posts and go from there. Is this function still here and I'm just missing it, or has it been removed in the update?

It was removed... you were one of the rare people that used it and it was taking up a query for nothing so we decided to remove it.

Just an idea, have the category browser and stuff on the forums, so its easier to look for tutorials from here.

We haven't updated the forum yet, it's coming :(

No offense, but I liked it the v3 way. I hate that menu thing there. I liked the sidebar with tutorials there. I can't find anything now. Perhaps include a skin feature that users can select which layout to use?

Keep in mind that the main site isn't a forum where its that easy to change skins. The features are coded directly into the template most of time so having multiple skins is not possible. Obviously not everybody will like this new version but most people like it so we'll stay with that.

I'm just curious about this, you mind if I explore this further? The new menu is a drop down menu, something you use every day on your computer. The hiearchy is also EXACTLY the same as before on the side menu... you have 2D graphics, 3D graphics, web design etc and then the programs under that. So basically, instead of a vertical collapsing menu system, we took the exact same concept and made it a horizontal collasping dropdown menu. I quite honestly am baffled at how this change would make it impossible for you to find anything. I use the site daily and it is SOOOOO much easier to use for me. So please explain to me as best you can what makes it so difficult to find anything, I'm genuinely curious.

Thanks :)

It's just me. I just think 3 columns look better than a horizontal drop down, but again that's just me. But I guess I haven't given myself time to use it enough, but I do think that 3 columns, with a vertical menu on the side is more efficient. Like I said, it's a nice change, but I just like vertical menus instead of horizontal.

Hear is what I have to say about it. It looks sweet. I have like 3 things I don't like about it. The drop down menues are cool and good, but they can get annoying because the submenues are not directly to the right of the menues. This means you have to move your mouse carefullly over and to the right to get to a sub meue. THis might just be me and my stupidness, but it can acually get annoy. Soemtimes i have to do it like 3 times. Also the sub menue looks sweet in general, but the color doesn't exaclty match the site. Its too dark to go with the background gray. Also my only other thing is it was confusing when it first changed but now its way easyer. (Thats just transition not really a complaint) So the menue the color and the other thing. I can not even complain though because this is such an amazing site that it doen't affect how good it is really overall.

I just looked over my post and realized how stupid it sounds that its hard to use a drop down menue. I didn't mean it like that its just when you use the menue you can't surf through it as fast as say I could on my start bar menue on my computer. Do you understand? if not i will try and explain better, but the more i think about this the more I think it might just be me.

Nope, makes great sense. The dark grey is on purpose, it's easier to use the higher conrtast menu in my experience. If it blends to well with the background, it seems harder to use. I have an idea for the menu to make it easier to use so you don't have to worry about missing it. I appreciate the feedback, thanks for taking the time to type it up and share :)

I absolutely hate the new layout. I find it unbelievably difficult to use and very annoying. The navigation is incredibly sketchy on my system (sometimes it works, but most of the time it just displays a blank box instead of tutorial categories) and it makes using the site incredibly difficult. All the new layout makes me want to do is go find somewhere else that offers tutorials...

Now, on the positive side, the layout looks cleaner and loads faster than the previous layout, which I do like. However these don't make up for the problems that I'm now experiencing.

Well if you're experiencing bugs you can help us out by reporting them. The blank boxes aren't there by design lol!

I've tried in IE, Firefox, Opera, and Safari and I always end up with the same problem. It's terribly depressing :[

New design looks great and makes better use of screen "real estate" IMHO

One question: am I crazy or is the tutorial queue gone now? That would be my only complaint...always thought that was a pretty cool feature.

All I have to say is, change the links again... I dislike how the navigations setup. I can't find crap anymore. I was searching for a professional, tech styled tutorial. I couldn't find one. Nor could I find the link for Photoshop'd websites...

It's in the same place it's always been... 2D Graphics > Adobe Photoshop. The search is also exactly the same... Search for tech layout or whatever, then click a category to narrow it down if you like. The only difference is that it's faster to search than before.
