I have had Ps Cs2 for about a year and half now and i have never had a problem like one that i am having now, its really strange.
This is what is happening:

Basicly on colour switcher on the left tool bar, when i click on the foreground colour so that i can change it Photoshop freezes and it comes up as Not Responding. Then all the toolbars and menu bars just go white and the only thing you can actually see is the graphic i was making.
Then i have to go to task manager and End photoshop, and after i have done that it takes about 5 minutes to close.
This started happening about an hour ago.

So at first i thought it may have something to do with my RAM. So i restarted the computer. Then i opened photoshop and no other programs. I had it on a new file of about 250x100.
I clicked on foreground colour, and again it froze up and i had to do the same as last time.
So it wasent anything to do with RAM.

So has this happened to anyone before? Or anyone knows what the problem is?

Thanks

EDIT: I just opened Ps and managed to use it for about 5 minutes even if i changed the colours. But then i had a selection and when i went to Select > Modify > Contract it did it again and went white and did not respond. Its really starting to get annoying.

Have you tried a reinstall?

Always try that first, it fixes the majority of problems easily.

Im about to uninstall now.

It just seems so much like it could be a RAM problem, but i have never had the problem and i have 1Gig of ram so it shouldent be a problem.

No Luck.
I just finished Re-Installing and opened it up. Clicked on the colour chooser and again it froze up and everything except the canvas turned white. =(

The fact that everything goes white leads me to think that it has got to be a RAM problem, but i really dont see how that is possible. Its been fine on thic computer for the past year and a half without any troubles.

Im running a virus scan now to check for anything that may cause program errors, but i am about 95% sure i wont find anything as my last full system scan was run about 24 hours ago and i havent really been on the internet very much since then.

Try calling Adobe's tech support or something, they might be able to help you out?

Worth a shot me thinks :P

Virus Scan dident pick up anything.

I tried calling tech support, but they happen to be closed on the weekends lol.

I just ended up wiping my entire computer, it needed a clean out anyway, just backed up the files i wanted to keep etc. And now it works fine.
