I am looking to take a particle system that looks something like this (though tweaked for my purpose) and alter it so I can use it as a text effect similar to how this program displays it. Is there anyone who knows what kind of code I need to be looking for? I would rather code it myself than use the program linked to above for the most control.

Thank you ^^

You'll probably need to create an array of points to arrange the particles at as they come from the emitter. I doubt it would work well for many letters. There would be too many particles on screen.

Thank you, Pax ^^. Creating an array never even crossed my mind. I'll definately try that out and see what I can get.
