Wrong topic, and hm I dodn't know what you did wrong, it would be nice to attach the .fla so people can see what you did wrong.

There's a special section if you browse down the forum you'll see the "help" section and in there there's a Macromedia Flash help section :P Well the swf only tells me you did things wrong, what you've done wrong I have no idea, I can guess but it won't really get me nowhere, the .fla tells you much more what you've done wrong.

Ok you started ok with what you were doing with this, but you forgot to remove the frames when you've done the effect so that rectangle stays on the stage, and about why it's not so fast, you forgot to change the frame rate, atleast give it 24 frames per second. I've done it for you and will attach the working .fla, just change the font and anything else you might want to add.

What version of macromedia do you have?

Try this one instead if it will work.

If you look at this screenshot here you'll notice that for instance effect 1 ends on the 20th frame, effect 2 on 35th and effect 3 50, and the letters appear on the next frame when the effects end, do the same as I did, and when you finnish the layer named effect, select the frames you don't need anymore, right click and remove frames (screenshot). So when the letter appears the rectangle won't be there anymore.
