As some of the people who actually looked at some of my layouts that ive designed have seen they are pretty graphic oriented

heres my last one i made:

Now i was just wondering.....do you think it would be better to use a layout like this or a less graphic oriented layout, simple/easy/and more professional looking.

I honestly dont mind redesigning a layout because I just end up learning new things.

And if you think i should stick with these 2, do you have any comments or constructive critisism?

Thanks

If this is for a hobby type of site, I think it looks great! I love the drak grey metal type of look... always have :D My only comment is that the text on the buttons on your main nav just under the banner is too big. I always find pixel fonts stick out and look funny when they are that big.

Thanks :D

I have so many fonts on my computer that when i cant seem to find one that works i stick some pixel font in there. Ill try researching for some more.

Thanks for the comment

Oh and it was for a Graphics Design resource and tutorial site that ive been wanting to start but havent had much luck finding a coder for. First of 3 or 4 i want to design.

Be sure to look at the whole length of the page. Opinions?

Also i dont even know if ill be using this for my site, i may just design a more professional looking layout with alot less graphics and sell this one, but i havent decided.

That's a hell of a lot better :)

Just try when slicing to slice it so you can reuse as much images as possible :) And when using text like on the vertical bttons top right add it in the text editor to Photoshop. This way you can add CSS styles to it

I agree here mate, that layout looks pretty damn good! I love the dark metal types. Allot of my layouts are pretty graphic heavy, if not.. they are dark. That is great layout.. keep it or sell it? I would keep it and just do it up :)

Thanks andy :)

I think i forgot to mention i changed the name of the site a little. I didnt like having to put a "-" in the domain name. Now called genesisxtreme.com

I had to re-make the banner which i think looks even better now.

Web design resource, and services site.

We will have tutorials, downloads, galleries, contests, public forums, free templates. We will also offere design services like designing logos, templates, skins (maybe), signatures, banners, things along those lines.

If this site goes well i plan on using some of the money to "maybe" open up a web hosting site, since web design and web hosting go hand in hand.

Then from there depending again on how everything goes (crosses fingers for the next 2 years) we may open a online store which i have already begun designing.

3 steps to success :)
