ive been making layouts in photoshop and then slicing them and placing them in dreamweaver using tables, ive done one website following a tutorial and using my own stuff with CSS style sheets but it didn't turn out the way i wanted everything was off centred and didn't have as good as an outcome as using tables... i was wondering if anybody had any good CSS tutorials for a beginner id really like to learn CSS i hear you have alot more freedom and you can do much more i dono if this is true or not, to me it just seems it takes longer and is more of a pain. Any thoughts on CSS compared to using tables would be great as well.

I would only use CSS if your making a real big website,
if its only going to be under 15 pages just stick with normal HTML i recon. but learning CSS will be usefull anyway

Well the easiest way to make CSS layouts when using a layout made in photoshop. Split it up into parts yourself for example, use the rectangular marquee tool to:

1. Select the header, copy paste it into a new document, save it.
2. Background image for a menu bar, copy paste it, save it.

etc.

Then you can built a layout using CSS. For tutorials on how to make a CSS layout, there are plenty of them on pixel2life.
