Im not sure if this is a flash or dreamweaver question, but what i want to do is produce a video inside a webpage. If you look at the adobe website the video is inside the the webpage. On U tube they have that nice play button in the centre. does anyone know what software is used and how to do such things.

Pretty sure they all use .flv files, which means you need an .flv encoder. Dreamweaver CS3 might have the tools required to embed an .flv. If not, I'm sure you could turn up some good results by googling it.

First of all get Flash8 or CS3 integrated you will see a software called Flash video Encoder, that's what you need to create flv files from almost any other format. Then you just need to create a FLV player from scratch or use the FLVPlayback component to play the video in flash movie.. The embedding in HTML is pretty easy, you can use Dreamweaver or you can also press File-> Publish in Flash and an HTML will automically be created.

Cheers
Tiago

PS: I have a few tutorials on my website on how to create the videoplayer.
