all my drivers are now installed and most my programs work,

im liking it alot, my pc is miles faster than i was on XP, granted i got good specs but damn Vista is musch better than i had thought it could be!!

My brother has Vista on his Laptop, gotta say, it really is great. Very light and "Aero" obviously..

As much as I liked Vista, I had to get a Mac Book :tiphat: But i've said before, I dont dislike Apple or Microsoft, theyre both great as a business and a supplier, they should join forces for something HUGE.

Nice to see you're enjoying yourself though :D

Is that not how windows started? Started as partners and a disagreement came out at the early releases of windows and one of the partners branched off and started Macintosh computers, which today is now Apple Inc.
In my books that have both done a good job which is why I really look down in these Mac V windows debates as they BOTH have a purpose in the market. As for your suggestion Tom about joining, I don't think I would like to see that happen, but I would like to see windows release their OS on a UNIX backbone. Maybe then they would not have so many resource issues.

uhhh Creative, I dont think thats how it happened... I might be wrong and I don't know exactly how they both started but I don't think it was like that... but anyways all I know is that theirs a movie out about that tho.... old movie if I'm right but i think it has all the details in it... forgot the name... I'll go look it up...

Lol I know what you mean.

I had Vista Business version on my old laptop - Dual Core, 1 gig ram. And it ran shit. Vista alone took up OVER 70% of RAM USAGE. It was cool to start of with, but seriously it started to run shit. Not to mention all the annoying authentication messages. They pissed me off. Sure it looks cool, but it's just way too much. I mean, did they really need to include that 3D window switch feature? Sure it's a novelty to begin with, but it just isn't useful. I never used it once. I could go on, but this isn't a Vista VS XP thread :D

My friend has Vista, he has had it since the release day, he uses all the features, has a lot of games, runs a lot of processes at once and hasnt had any problems yet, I think Vista is great personally and its a very love hate scenario with a lot of people.

You either love it or hate it, but tose who love it cant get enough of it! :D

erm apple came after microsoft...they can't join forces due to laws saying that two large competitors can't co-op on the basis it keeps prices real for the consumer.

Keeps prices real? Man, if they were to join, I'm sure they would come up with something amazingly unique at a costly budget :)

You can disable that and don't need it at all. http://www.vista4beg...-to-disable-UAC

Congrats on Vista you'll love it when you get used to where they hide everything, I hate using XP now after Vista.

Sorry but i wouldn't disable that unless your sure your computers pretty solid, all trojans hijack running processes in memory, if there was one on yor comp they could execute alot of stuff.

Just my 2 cents.

I haven't used any anti-virus at all for about 2 years. When I had my PC, that was the first thing I did was disable the UAC, and I still never got a virus. It jus ttakes stupidity to get viruses now-a-days.

My opinion on UAC: Using an antivirus (previously free) and a free firewall, I have never had a virus related problem. Why do I need this UAC again?

You are joking right?

Viruses are EVERYWHERE. I got another virus just the other day, when the only websites I visit is P2L and Youtube.

Until ALL of my games and programs are guaranteed to work with Vista 100% of the time I will not switch. I doubt this will ever happen though.
