Haha, well, first I would suggest not licking it. Sylvia is a good healer but you may aggravate it. From what description you gave it could be a small ulcer or abscess but you do need to get it checked out by someone not rely on the opinions of teenagers (i.e. me :))

I would suggest ringing into your dentists surgery and ask them whether it would be best to get it seen to by them since it's a gum issue and may well be related to a tooth problem or to go to the doctors instead.

I should also say if this has only just appeared then wait a few days and don't sweat it. If it doesn't go away after say a few days to a week then best to get it checked especially if it's causing any discomfort.

If it's an absess and infected it can spread to other areas of the body resulting in brain abscess, endocarditis, pneumonia, or other disorders and eventually death.

Was nice knowing you lol, but seriously see a dentist don't get advice from non medical forums.

Nope being serious a good friend of mine died from something simple like that, another person I know did get a brain abscess from what they thought was just a toothache they ignored. They're still learning how to read and talk again and recently a young boy died in the US

Check the web lots of info on what can happen.

Wooooahhhhhh stop and hold. Tell me you're joking? Go to the dentist at least every year, even better go every 6 months. I brush/floss/mouthwash my teeth and I would put good money on me having worse teeth then many 50+ year olds (generalisation of old people having bad teeth - sorry!)

Just because you don't notice anything wrong with your teeth or mouth doesn't mean there isn't, aside from that you have noticed something so go get it checked out.

I got to the dentist every 2 weeks.... no lie, I have lots of surgery on my teeth and mouth in general.. I got a metal chin like Kane West :o

I also got gold plated roots (Not real roots obviously) They hole 3 of my fake teeth in, im also getting bridge built on Wednesday..

Oh, my jaw was also out of alignment untill 5 months ago...

If your parents tell you you're having braces for a while.. It CAN mean 3 years of braces and a year of dental work and operations to the mouth!

Oh and regarding the mouth trouble, sometimes I have what feels to be a tiny little bubble in my mouth, and if i apply enough pressure to it, it will burst and blood with spill from there, usually after my gums have been hacked away by the dentist the day before..

You must go to your dentist regularly, I go every 2 months just to check for anything that shouldnt be there and to check my jaw and teeth alignment :)

Either that or it's just an ulcer... I'm sure someone has probably mentioned that already in this topic but I'm too lazy to look through it all lol

Welcome to the MedForums. :)

I recommend seeing a doctor if you think it could be serious.

Search google too.
