Hi everyone, yesterday my brother and I bought IPB for our site and I must say it is awesome! Origianlly I was a phpBB fan and would defend them to the death but now that I have a little more experence with IPB I must say it is the best forums software! The vast amount of features it offers is great! Also the support that comes with it is amazing. I must say it is really worth the money.

Do you have to pay a continual fee for IPB or is it just a one-time purchase.

While I won't be anytime soon, I also have thought about getting this.

IPB max licensing right now is 6 months. So the best time to buy the license was when they offered life-time license for 170$.

TECHNICALLY you don't have to keep paying it unless you want to keep updating (I am going to keep updating, security, security, security ;))

Thatnks Hoot...that's what I was looking for.

So I can just spend money once, as long as I don't care to update it after 6 months. Gotcha.

Lifetime Licenses were: $149.00 (old price was $199.00), perpetual licences were $185 both still exist but no longer offered.

I believe if you hold an account you get access to IPB for aslong as you need it, you just not entitled to support. Thats why you pay a $25 renewal fee for support not the actual software...

.. I think ;)
thats what I THINK too lol but I also think you pay that fee to keep getting updates.

There was a problem we did run into with the pro skin. It wouldn't allow you to add Personal Statement. But it is all fixed now. So far the support with invision has been outstanding!

we, who is this WE, you mean Hoot, Donna, and Invision solved it :)

but yeah, it was a VERY simple fix (although I needed a ton of help to find it :P), a bug with one of there skins, they simply forgot to close a form so once that form was closed it all worked!

I got it when it was $140 for 1 year. It's run out though now.

I am huge IPB fan! I'm used to joining a lot of IPB forums. vBulletin just doesn't feel right to me and phpBB is too basic.
