I have this photo of my mother when she was about 11-12, and it's in black and white. I want it to have colours again. (It has always been black and white) How do I find the colour tones? Or how do I get it to get colours again? I would really appriciate if someone told me how, showed me a tutorial or made a tutorial.

Regards, neadii.

I don't think its possible. You could put in the colours using PS but I don't think you can get the colours from the picture...

I know it's possible. My friends brother did it with a old picture, but he won't tell me or his own brother. (lol)

I've made a quick search, here you have some:
http://www.graphic-design.com/Photoshop/Se...rize/index.html
http://www.shutterta...s/handcolouring
http://www.absolutecross.com/tutorials/pho...tos/colorizing/

Hope you find them useful.

Edited: I've just read Mezzo's posts. You want to get the original colors? If so, I don't think that's possible either. You can add the colors you like, but as far as I know you can't guess the original ones.

My guess is he added colours in. While those may look like the originals they probably aren't. The thing is this old picture never had colour just shades of black and white. Meaning the actual colour was never stored...Also you probably have a scanned version of it (unless there were digital cameras when your mom was that age) so the scanned version wouldn't have colours because the original wouldn't. Due to this you have to add the colours in yourself.

I'm no professional with Photography but I don't think you can find something that never existed in the first place

(Sorry I should have been more clear in my first post)
