Hi there,

I have recently been asked to produce a site to promote a small business. I've come up with 5/6 design layouts and need to have the client review these. I've actually created them in using photoshop (1008*563 pixels)

How best can i present this to the client? should i email over each individiual jpg layout? Or upload these to a dedicated page? or create as an A4 PDF page?

What would you advise?

Thanks in advance :P

I personally would use a pdf file with all layouts in it + description to every layout.

Balor, thanks for such a quick response!

how do you usually do this?

Do you create your layouts in photoshop and then resize them to fit an A4 pdf page?

Do you also provide colour palettes and font examples too?

Or is that offering TOO much?

Normally I resize them to fit on a A4 pdf page and then just add description to it. I directly describe where all the wanted modules are located. I never gave out the color palettes yet. Normally I also add a note that it would be nice if they could just add questions or change things the way they would like to have and then just send it back to me.

Or you may put them all into an HTML document and email it to your client... Or what about making a Flash Slideshow and then publishing it as an executable file(.exe, good if your client have Windows) and then mailing it your client??

Thanks both for your responses!

I actually ended up sending over the actual png file as whenever I tried to resize it there was a such a big loss in clarity that you couldn't really see the elements of the layout that made it really stand out

Unfortuneately the client has asked specifically for black versions of layouts now. Even though in our intial meeting we tried to move away from such a sterotypical colour for their industry. Also they have asked for a black/pink concept which I personally think is going to look quite "punk" and prob not present the company in the best light.

How can I talk them out of this?! I have already tried once on the intial meeting when we discussed requirements but it seems they are insistent on this kind of colour palette. Or do I just leave them to it and create whatever they ask for?

Well I'd say leave them to it, it’s normally not worth getting involved in them sort of aspects. However its completely up to you, but be careful on what you say as they might decide not to continue with using your services, and look else where for someone to produce there requirements.

@ Vandalised

Yup I know exactly what you mean. It's so frustrating though! I spent TWO hours going through the requirements with them in a meeting and tried to explain the benefits of using alternative colours to the ones they have selected and now they've reverted back to the originals.

I really hope it doesnt affect their own business as it can so easily be blamed on my designs :)
