What are some ways that you guys go about before making your web template?

Do you make a sketch on a piece of paper? Or do you just play it by ear?

You could do that... I've been doing that recently, simply because whenever I do go to start of a new design, I feel limited by the workspace I have on the screen (even though it is 1680 x 1050 resolution).

But now guess what?! I'm beginning to feel that my imagination wants to run wild, and a piece of paper is no longer going to do it for me. What I'm thinking is getting a whiteboard for my room, a few different coloured whiteboard-markers, and let it run WILD! Like... I can just picture myself doing crazy stuff with a workspace that big.

In the end, it's really up to you - you have to find your own, unique (but not necessarily), comfortable way of producing your designs that are going to make your clients drewl at you to the max. lol

I like to gather up as much copy paper as possible, sketch out all of my ideas (hold your paper either portrait or landscape depending on how you see your site looking) and then plaster all of the sketches on my poster board and dig in.
