Hi There,
I've scoured every inch of the internet looking for a decent tutorial on this effect. I know i could just throw down a grid and individually select hundreds of little boxes and overlay/multiply them, but there must be an easier, nicer, cleaner, cooler way.
What am I referring to?

If you've played the 07 or 08 Madden games you're probably familiar with the coolness of this effect.
I'm hoping to get something looking nice in 2D flat, unanimated photoshop. I know it can be done, and any help to develop a nice series of steps to accomplish it would be most awesome.
Thanks!
Glen
