[PowerSeeker]

Hey guys. I've been on a 2 year web design break. Finally decided it was time to come back and this is the first layout I've made. Suggestions for improvements to the layout would be awesome

It's going to be a free web layout website which I will use just to upload all the layouts I make and distribute them. I'm just doing it to better my PS skills and thought why not help others at the same time

P.S.. That button in the middle is a flash mp3 player.. start and stop button are on there. Im' considering getting rid of it though

Hey, PowerSeeker!

I have to admit, I don't like those navigation buttons. Personally, I think they don't fit, and either could be removed, or possibly have the shine/gloss toned down and the blue in the bottom of the "button," to me, needs to go. I think it would look alot better with those minor changes.

One other thing that urks me is the scroll bar where the content is. I know this is a pet peeve, but I disdain having more than one scrollbar within the page, unless the scrollbar is connected to a list, in which case I'm fine with that. I think that also needs to be fixed. Also I don't like the news postings being centred.

Furthermore, where you have the page titles under the navigation also looks out of place. I think just a plain title would suffice - even if it's just in the font you use it would work. Otherwise it just looks, as I said, out of place and doesn't look like it belongs there.

Lastly, I couldn't help but notice the mp3 playing on your site is from FL Studio. I only know that because a friend of mine makes music in FL Studio, and I happened to hear this track play a couple of times while I was having a play around and didn't know what I was doing.

yah i really dont like the nav either. But the layout is not bad good for just starting up again.

I agree with the other comments on the navigation. Rather than using buttons it might look better to kind of merge the buttons and the background for the navigation, i.e. use text and a couple lines to make that look like a few buttons. Also, the flash music control in the middle of your navigation has got to go.
