corel x3 line help

how do i get lines to go from fat to a point? '

Try changing the outline/stroke size.

I use Corel 12, but i'm sure it isn't that much different to Corel X3.
Try using the Artistic Media Tool, try pressing "I" it should bring it up. Then just play around with the settings. There should be a preset for a line that goes from thick to thin.
