Well I just spent $US100 for a copy of the Lynda.com PS extended 3D videos and at the first part what a let down.
The guy is using a PC.. no problem there and I use a Mac.. still no problem.
BUT when he opens a Max file all the textures and stuff some with the file.. for me that does not.
He does not eve explain how they got there. Bit poor I reckon.

Anyone on a Mac done this? How to get all the textures etc. Paid to find out and still don't know :P

I've always been able to interchange fonts, brushes and styles. I would imagine importing textures would be the same way. At least, I assume that is what you are talking about.

When he opens the 3ds file all the textures etc come with it as layers.. but for me just the 3ds model and nothing else.

well I donno if it's the same as maya but.... what I do in maya is when you do your UV mapping and crap then you save it as a PSD and check mark which layers like texture/shading/bumb you want and when you open it in photoshop you get the the UV layout and different folders which represents the different maps you want to make...

by the way.... 3Ds on a mac?... something wrong with that picture... 3Ds is windows only no?
