Hi folks, just want your feedback on my new tutorial site tutnation.com

What do you think about the design and the way it works?

Cool layout, like the background. The menu on top's links are pretty hard to read though. maybe lighten up the text a bit?

Not a big fan of the colors. They don't go to well together in my opinion.

Thanks for all your input so far, I'll take the tabs into consideration. As for the colours, what would you prefer?

The top navigation would look good if you used a bigger, bold font. (should probably be done with graphics to get a nice font)
I don't like the bubbles for the background, doesn't really seem to fit.
Overall it looks good.
Should probably be lightened up a little bit. (kind of hard to see some things) also, the darkness of it doesn't appeal for this kind of site.
Good job though, lots of potential with this.

Thanks Dilfill

Also, tgs, I agree, some parts may be a little dark, what I was aiming to do was make the main content brighter, but thanks for your comments.

I'll fix up those tabs in a moment, tell me what you think.

Cool site. I think it's a little to "heavy" and I think the best way to make it look "lighter" is to reduce the amount of colors, maybe pick like 2 or 3 colors and stick to them, and I don't really like the background....lol sorry Austen! :)

one thing I might add is that your home tutorials and ect... need or should be shiny and fun like the rest

what do you mean by the home tutorials as shiny? I did add a slight shine, is it not noticeable?

the curves seem choppy to me, get rid of the beta thing, otherwise it looks good.

Hoot, yeah - the curves do look a little choppy, I'll fix them later.

Also, I would like to keep the BETA there so people know when there is an update - It's not going to stay there for long

Do you think I have made the registration obvious enough?

I think you need to match them top bars up, so there either blue or gray, not a mix match of both, think that looks rubbish.

Like the way the tutorials are present in the little boxes, looks good and nice and clear. One tip though you might want to go for some general icons for your different sections.

Also, write in full English in your tutorials!

I have written in full english, everybody can post tutorials so they aren't all mine.

Second thanks, the icons do you mean for example the php icon instead of text saying php?

The blue and gray was to separate the main content, what colour do you recommend for the middle section?

I'd deffiently have some sort of 'approving period' where you can proof read them mate.
