Hey guys, iam in the works of doing a Mazda RX-7 for a racing short that me and a frind are trying to tackle. I just started about 4 days ago, working on it in my spare time.

We are going to try our best to make this as realistic as possible, using 3ds maya and combustion. Im using Maya 8.5 for my stuff. And i know a decent ammount of combustion. So please here is the 1st little bit of the car, and i already today created the Rims i will use for the RX7.

Also i have loads of reference Pictures, as i own a 1992 JDM RX-7, but we are not trying to make the car 100% to spec,we are going to put our own little spins on some things. So that said here is the progress so far:

Heres the gallery to the Rims, i have a few different combonations of them, please tell me which one you prefer:

And the WIP Screen cap of the car:

Any responses will be much appreciated!

and the body of the car seems to be coming along very well... can't wait to see further updates...

I'd like the 3rd set of rims if you added the details from the 2nd.

I coulda sworn it was the same set of rims just from different angles.. Anyway, I can't wait to see the final! I've always loved 3D car models.

Ok guys i noticed that the blueprints i was modeling off of were scrunched, so it made the car look more squat. I decided to remodel the entire model, and go for a more stock feel. I was rushed before with the model, due to a deadline we gave ourselves, but we decided to not give a deadline at all, and just do a super job! Me too, I was going to say the same. We're all like dominos, but one already fell.

I'd say RX7 has always been the best car out of the Mazda car history, it almost looks just like it. Except it's still being created, and it's body is cut in half :P

Wow, well would you look at that. Looks almost as if you stole the body kits off a real RX7 and held it under your basement garage.

Looks very, sleek and gorgeous :o

Hey guys thanks for the comments, I am going to do the car stock first, then with a kit. But ive been super busy at work these past days, so this is all i have on the car at the moment. Comments and Crits appreciated. Im to excited to get the car close to completion, so i need to fix the front bumper lights, but meh they can wait, haha.

I do need to fix the door, it is a little bit wavy.
Comments and Crits appreciated!!
