Aye, been planning ahead lately as some of you know I'm trying to create a online community for designers sometime in the future.
So my question is, how much bandwidth does Pixel2Life use averagely per month? Or Donna, how much does 13Dots use?
Also, if you also own a website or forums post how much bandwidth does it use.
And last of all, which IPB package would fit best for a online forum community for graphic designers, choose one from Packages listed. Or is it just better to get a licesne for the forum, from Licenses listed.

I think I remember Faken saying it was somewhere between 1-2 TB, but that was a while ago.

I know a reliable host I use that gives 3TB of bandwidth and 300GB of space for like $7.77USD

Alot of webhosts offer crazy plans like that now, but if you read their TOS you'll find they still place a CPU/memory usage limit on your account.

P2L goes through something like 300GB a month or so... the server with all the domains totalled up is about 500GB. The server includes 3.5TBs

Hmm.. You're planning your website the "I WANT IT NOW!" Way, IPB? HUGE Bandwidth? How fast do you think you'll get it up?
You need to start off cheap, MyBB or phpBB Or something, get around 15 - 30 active members, then start improving it, additional bandwidth, more disk space perhaps..
Starting off with IPB, TB's of Bandwidth and hundreds of gigabytes of disk space really is moving in the lazy persons area.
Part of an interview with Dan I'll be posting up on my site when its finished

Tom: What advice can you give to a young web developer like myself and for those reading this interview?
Dan: There's 2 things that I try to stress to anyone looking to create a successful web project in one form or another, first thing is patience. You have to be patient and work your butt off to get your site off the ground and keep it flying high. Trying to score quick and easy traffic with Digg or other methods is worthless and in the long run won't get you very far. It's better to be patient and work hard and build yourself up slowly but surely. Keep an eye on your logs at the end of each month and you'll see the growth come slowly but surely.
Second thing is don't be afraid to ask... this doesn't mean be rude, but I always live by the old addage "You don't ask, you don't get". So you get denied on an affiliate request or something... who cares? At least you tried. Sometimes the most far-fetched requests are granted, and it's a great feeling knowing had you got where you did because of your persistence, dedication and professionalism.
When it comes to building a site, you need to think in terms of yearly quarters or even years. Trying to establish goals day-to-day or week-by-week are useless... you need to go longer term than that.
Unless you happen to get a fluke overnight success, no one starts raking in mega cash and tons of visitors in a week.
So be patient and fearless

That does seem cheap. Its not an introductory offer or anything right ! Do you think they would be able to handle flash video / php progressive download ! If so, although the space may be big and the bandwidth, what kind of speed would they let individuals have for download. i.e. its no good having 3tb of bandwidth if they only let each user have 5kp/s. ( There must be a name for that, not the amount of bandwith per month but amount of bandwidth given out at any one time, but I dont know it )
I know this company are just another reseller of a bigger company ( it says it in the TOC ) I wonder how you get in with the big boys of hosting, i.e. the guys that supply these guys.

If you're just starting a brand new site, there's no way you need a dedicated box with that much BW unless you're hosting massive movies files or something.
