ok yea that worked great thanks. But i also need help with one more thing. The left panel which is holding the smaller boxes is to short and i need it to stretch to the bottom of that div without setting a height. I have tried the 100% method a few different ways and searched good and this site for oen that works but none have worked for me so far.

so.....anyone know what to do bout it?

Well my question still hasnt been answered after a couple of days. But I need to know how to get a dic to touch the bottom of its containter at all time without setting a height. I have searched these forums and tried numerous methods and just cant get it to stretch to the bottom of its container.

1) Stick to one topic.
2) Don't double post.

If nobody has answered your question, it is because nobody here is willing to because of the frequency of such a problem, or doesn't know how to.

The problem you are having is known to be solved by using faux columns. There is a tutorial about it on A List Apart. It is the only solution i know of that is easy to implement.
