I think its quite funny to have a National Signature League - For something that is so small, and so common in forums these days, sigs are the last thing I would expect to have its own 'league'. I just find it a funny and unusual prospect - perhaps its me and my disliking for sigs, but I laughed when i saw it mentioned. Sorry for any offence etc.

I first thought that, why have a site dedicated just to sigs. But after joining it and looking through it, it seems to be a very decent place, with good content and lots of members. It is only a simple idea, but has been fully thought out. Now i often visit to pick up tips on designing sigs. :D

It's a brilliant idea when you think about it ;) Sigs are everywhere so having a place with brilliant sig designers, and calling it the official sig 'league' is unique :)

A sig isn't exactly what I would regard as a form of art or some other form that should be well celebrated.

Its simply a product of internet culture. Which I suppose is to do with art.

but a 200 x 300 sig, pour example, won't be displayed in the louvre' or tate modern (not that i would ever go there anyway)

Neither will a web design, but I highly regard websites as works of art :)

how is a sig not art?

Im sorry, i can work alot harder on a sig than u could on a template or website. Sigs are not easy, not great sigs, or original, or any other.

you may think sigs are easy but get a great looking sig can and i have seen and done hours of work on them.

websites arent art if sigs arent, cause they are both related. i do both templates, forum skins, sigs, ect..

NSL is a great site, and is a success, and is working on a v2, and just so you know mate, its not all bout sigs there.

sorry if i came off like an ass, didnt mean to.

No, I don't think sigs are 'easy'. "Back in the day" I used to create them, with MS Picture it! (oh boy, that was a couple of years ago). But I didn't enjoy making them, I spose I made them to show off skill. Now I just put effort into my 'art', and try to learn and use new ideas creatively. To me, a sig just won't do that for me.

Besides, most sigs I see are all trendwhore anyway, and aren't all original, like using pictures/wallpapers as a bg and then using typo for the rest.

Just my opinion (and sorry for going off-topic)
