I'm working on a project where I need to be able to allow my users to do 2 things:
1. Upload an image
2. Move the image from the "preview" section to the "active" section.
Basically, the user should be able to upload an image from they're desktop, see it in the window, and then hit a Move button. It should snap from a Preview area to the active area. Sort of like previewing their picture on a T-Shirt of mug or something like that.
Is this possible? Are any of you aware of any tutorials that describe the Action Script needed to make these two work (together would be amazing)? I'm using Flash CS3 on a PC.

i dont get the snap bit, whats the point of moving preview to active? as u havnt done anything to it in the preview, so why have 2 things when u can just stick it straight into the active? or am i totally lost (ppl dont explain stuff very well lol)
uploading is a possible, gonna need a php or asp backend mind u, but putting into flash with loadVars or using swifr thingy to push variables into flash would be easy aswell, just wat do u plan on doing with the image?

Eventually the idea is to put the image on a mug or something. I'm not totally sure as my client hasn't given me all the info yet.
They want to ultimatly be able to pick up the final image (on the mug) so they can fill an order. Have the customers preview of their image on the product sent to the business. Does that make sense? Sort of like a cafe press thing...
Its a good call about having the uploaded image go directly to the Active area...but I'm not in charge of how this is to work. I brought up the same point actually

The backend stuff is no problem. I figured as much. The loadVars code you mentioned was what I was looking for! Thank you very much!
If you have any other tips or suggestions, or could point me towards a tutorial on how the loadVars code works that would be much appreciated. Otherwise, I have a Flash Book I can (and have been) consult.
