How do I perfectly center text on a button?

use the center paragraph, then just drag,
it should snap in the middle.
If not use guide left, guide right, then selection rectangle and press ctrl+t, so you'll now see the middle, drag guide to that point, then drag the text in middle and delete all guidelines.... lot of work for just a alignment.

If your using Photoshop, and want the text in the center of your image
Highlight your button layer, then goto select/load selection, to get the dotted lines around your button
Then highlight your text layer, Click on the move tool
then in the top bar of photoshop, you will see the aline buttons (see image below) and click the ones i have pointed out

Or adjust the position manually:
- Activate the Move tool
- Use keyboard cursor keys (arrows)
- Activate the Move tool
- Use keyboard cursor keys (arrows)
