Hi guys!I have a problem.When somebody in a tut. duplicates a layer he gets as a result that images of the layers got merged and when i do that I obtain one layer with one image and another with other.An example is a tutorial with lens flares like this:

I am somewhat confused about this. Are you saying you DON'T want the layers merged but they are becoming merged, or you DO want the layers merged but they won't go?

Sorry,the problem I can't tell you exactly.Well I will try another time.In that tutorial you saw that he has two layers with the same image but flipped and like you can see he's got

If you are asking how to flip a layer horizontally or verically its under Edit > Transform... other than that I still do not understand what you are asking =P.
