Well as some of you may know I have been working on my site for a good while now. I have had a very hard time deciding the look and style of my site. I really like the blog sites but thats not just what I wanted and I really didnt want a site without a blog.

Your thinking then go wordpress. Well for somereason i didnt like wordpress very much The front end of WP is great but it was the backend that I didnt like much. So i build my self a Joomla based site. I have found a great design to go with it that has been manipulatyed very much.

So now i think i have my site the way i want it to be for a very long time.

so please take a look at it and let me know what you think.

Im looking to see if visually, is it pleasing, is it easy on the eyes. Or is this one of those sites that is just not attractive and therefore cause you to not want to explore the site.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks

I always go to the link provided before I read the description set by the author. In the case of this design, I opened up the URL and went

WOW!

Absolutely stunning design, in my eyes - although the header text could be worked on.

Then I saw

Then I had to ask myself "well, just how much of the design did you modify?"

To answer your question, yes :) In my eyes, the site's design is incredibly appealing, and looks to serve its purpose rather effectively. I'd just like to know how much of the design is actually your work - is it possible to post the link of the original skin?

Other than that, sweet job :)

Oh, btw Ben - I see he featured your Dock Icon set :P

very nice! super-sharp colours, nice and clear, piece of cake to understand and navigate. overall a REALLY nice piece of eye candy!

i do, however, have to ask this:
is the SABAS header supposed to be hidden by the tabs at the top of the page? perhaps it's just IE that's doing it (i imagine most of you are on Firefox?), but if it's not what you intended, perhaps you'll want to take a look.

ok to answer a few question the tabs are not hidding the header. the header withd is only about 125 pix in height.

now as for the rest after finding what the original looked like , looks like i might have to rephrase my comment, I did make alot lof chnages to it but i hvae ti include that many of these changes included the front end image and as well as the backend areas and coding ...

here are two screen shots of it before..

or what they should look like.

It felt like i did alot of changes one is that newsflash area i brought up the thre columns in the one row to be placed on both top and bottom areas, as well as having to manipulate the code to fit that area. I did do alot of re positioning things in the backend especially with the way i wanted each category section area to appear.

Also my header well i tried to recreate something similar to the design of the newsflash banner, and i think i did really good as far as the colro and trying to duplicate the wave.

and again thanks for viewing. guys.

hmmm. that's not what i see, actually.
the header? top left? it's not showing up at all for me. the word/name "SABAS" appears when the page loads and when it finishes loading, the tabs cover it. i still see it behind the tabs. there are gears at the top left, and SABAS in bold, white lettering at the top right.

not quite sure why what i'm seeing is completely different. the URL in my address bar is http://www.sabasdesign.com/index/
