Currently I'm living in Perth for a couple of months, mainly to help my brother with some site redevelopments. Anyway, tonight my brother and his wife went to the in-laws (really nice ones :)) to babysit one of the young ones whilst the in-laws went out together for a much needed break.

I decided to stay home (there's really nothing to do there, except for the million-dollar massaging chair) - and said I could take care of myself for the night. HA! Rule #1 broken there :P

So anyway, I thought to have hard-boiled eggs for dinner - which is simple enough... I thought - though, I haven't cooked in ages. I could exactly remember how to cook 'em, so I voiced mum over the phone to give me the low-down B)

SO! I get out approx. 3 eggs for the first lot of eating (Mmmmmmm :P). Egg #1... in! Egg #2... WTF... why are you stuck in the carton? *puts more pressure on pulling*.... *crack!* Lovely :P
Eggs # 3 and 4 came out fine lol

Next... put the eggs in the saucepan... with water half-full. Instructions were simple: Wait until water boiling, then let it boil for about another 3 minutes or so. 5-10 minutes in, I'm gracefully looking at what I thought would have been rusty cooking, when I hear this "POP!"... I turned right to the egg and there was now white all through the water.

So... trusting my... not-so-hot instincts, I figure... well, if that one exploded, the rest are bound to any time soon (btw, water wasn't even properly boiled at that time). So I take the other two out, hoping I've still at least got some food, when I discover from cutting them open that they're not nearly as cooked as they should be :(

That's 4 eggs down and out for the count... and I didn't get to eat any of them!! So... let's just say I've had enough cooking experiences for one night.

Meh, I just settled for a couple of cheese and vegemite sandwiches :)

You got eggs.. you got cheese... should have chopped some peppers, some veggies, some onion, some ham (Or any meat) grate the cheese.

Crack some eggs into the pan, make an omelette base, chuck in the other bits, put the grated cheese on top, under the grill for 5 mins or so... there you have it.. an omelette pizza. My fave xD

But yes you should stick to sandwhich making.. lol

I never use cold water always half boiled with a bit of salt, 10-15mins for hard boiled. Never had one explode
