As for blue ray, I don't think I've seen one shop around here sell blue ray dvd's or players... I don't know anyone who has one either.
So, hm.

As for the whole situation... I'm still yet to experience HD DVD or Blue Ray... so I can't really say much

Having said that, Blueray is cheaper to produce and has a larger capacity...that's really what it comes down to. Having said that I can't help but think if the 360 included a HDDVD player by default it may have haired a little better....but hey....

Lol, I think you're getting a bit confused here, HDTV is like a channel that you get from cable/satellite. We're talking about the media HD-DVD, that's what's dead.

Never been interested in either HD DVDs or Blue Ray since they were released and you can't rent them in any of the video shops they're buy only here $40- $80 which is a waste of $$$ and the range is very miminal from what I've seen. I can go to ebay and buy new release dvds for 99cents.
MediaDesign we have around 20 HD channels, not one new one has been added in over 12mths so they're slow to change.

Same. I can tell the difference in picture and sound quite majorly, but somehow when I'm buying a DVD (and for that matter a player), it's just not worth the jump in price (usually around 2 or 3 times more here).
If you have a big LCD TV, or a nice new laptop/monitor at anything above 720p then yes you need a HD source to get any real quality out of it - but - you can also buy fairly cheap DVD Upscalers which will take the quality of a standard DVD up quite some way I hera (haven't got around to buying one yet myself. Happy watching DVDs on my LCD).

"yes-unfortunatly" is biased the rest are the same, there is no unfortunatly about it, hd-dvd is doing far better in europe but since the companies look at usa it doesnt make any difference. Mum will get lots of hd dvd's when they drop in price as they stop being made.

Off topic (sorry): I've had that occasionally quite a while ago...could never figure out why though, it's certainly not meant to do it. Figured it was fixed somewhere along the line with an update since I haven't had any trouble with it in quite some time.

Yes you need a HD TV to get those channels I have 2 HD boxes but only get HD on the LCD TV and we have around 300 plus channels so only 20 coming through in HD is pathetic.

How can it be biased and not apply to Europe? All major studios have moved to Blu-Ray plus many big retailers did.
And btw, I was always supporting HD-DVD but now that it's dead, the word "yes, unfortunatly" is appropriate imo.
