I have to do an assignment for school:
I have to create a movie poster, but I don't have the faintest idea where to start, or wich rules/guidelines I should follow.
I am fairly skilled with Photoshop, and I'm a fast learner.
So I'm asking here now if someone has any tips for me.
Thanks in advance.

Best way to get inspiration is to check other pieces and artists
find few of them u like and take the best out of them and make ur own! tont go too far in taking ideas from others or u'll be called a thief!
posters examples
and if u need some techniques tutorials always help - if u know your way around ps its enough just to read them

first make sure you have whole the content before designing anything:
subject?,
pictures?,
all the text needed etc...
Put it all where you want and THEN design the right style.
Believe it or not: content is still the most important
