Hi all,
I am stuck trying to use xmapp to run oscommerce on my computer. I have to set it up offline first as the server provider that host the site I want to run oscommerce on have refused to change the file permissions.

I was advised to set up oscommerce on xampp and ftp it up when it is installed.

I think that I have set up a database server using myphpadmin first
then use this server to run oscommerce but have no idea how to do this. I know nothing about the backend of web design or programming.

I have put oscommerce in the htdoc folder with link http://localhost/cat...all/install.php

I have opened myphpadmin through http://localhost/phpMyAdmin/

but am completely lost I have no experience using php admin and after two hrs searching have been unable to find any documentation on setting up the database.
