Hello All - I know nothing about designing, editing etc..but I would like to learn. What are your recommendations for 1. Photo editing software 2. Software to design and or edit logos and the like (may use for printing t-shirts) I guess the software should be able to use jpeg, Eps, etc.. Like I said - I know nothing about this stuff. 3. software for video editing.
Rigth now I am looking for software that will give me the basics that I need.
Thanks for any replies - also let me know what I am looking at spending..I assume some of the software is pretty pricey. My computers are all windows based.
I need software recommendations

1. Photo editing is always one of the hardest to choose, although the most straightforward choice is Photoshop ($650). But it can be very pricey, so if you can't afford it, maybe try Photoshop elements ($100), the latest version makes it much closer to its big brother, it still doesn't have all the stuff the full version does, but it gets close.
2. Same thing, photoshop, and maybe Adobe Illustrator ($600)
3. When you say editing, what do you mean? Do you mean video editing or video compositing? Editing is more like when you're making a movie you cut up clips and put them in order. Compositing is more like putting more then just that into a video (I know, it sounds sorta confusing). If you mean video editing, I'd go for either Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere Pro.

I have no idea about video editing so I can't help you in that area but I do photo editing and illustrating. But
before you buy that stuff (that vvtopkar kindly stated) try Gimp and Inkscape first, they are both free and open source.
