I've noticed that constantly the time that tells when the user posts something is always alternating between hours. The correct hour would be say 8pm, but everytime I refresh it will change between 8pm and 7pm.

See?

Make sure in your control panel your set on your correct timezone, as the times show perfectly.

Options - Board Settings also check your DST Correction is set right.

The forum is set to Dans timezone so you have to set it to your own and it'll only show correctly to you logged in.

It's not that, 'cause I'm noticing it too, and I know my settings are right. What happens is that every time you reload the page, the time moves back an hour, and then returns to normal after another refresh...and so on and so forth.

In other words: You come to the forum, and the time would say, 10pm.

Close the tab/window, and come back, it'll say 9pm.

Yeah that's exactly it. I guess it's not that big of a deal, I haven't noticed it until now :P

I recommend reporting it to ipb, as I said before. There is nothing we can do.

Thanks,
Adam

I have it now as well since this side of the world has just gone into daylight savings the DST is not working, don't bother reporting it as it's already been reported it's a template issue.

The call to the javascript function which checks DST NEEDS to be updated. A quick glance at All Global HTML -> global_board_footer check the DST check and if you see parseInt instead of Math.Abs then it's out of date, and that is what would cause the issue.

From bfarber:
1) Make the necessary skin update to global_board_footer
2) Upload the updated javascript files
3) Clear your browser cache to ensure you're using the latest javascript files?

:censored: Still doesn't seem to be working.

I've cleared cache, closed browser, but it's still doing it.

Oh well, I can live with it.

Is the DST Correction ticked or unticked? seems a bit odd it's not working for you as New Zealand and Aussie timezones are showing perfectly when I change settings. Same as all the timezones this side of the world.

The new IPB patch has the updated files incase the above didn't work.

Additionally, we have patched a recent bug with the automated DST checking in IPB that has surfaced since the recent DST changeover.

That might be the solution - unless they're talking about a different bug.

you haven't stated whether the DST Correction is ticked or unticked this makes a huge difference. Quite odd it's working for everyone else except you lol your profile shows your in the right time.

I had Auto Detect DST setting ticked, but I just unticked it and ticked that we were in daylight savings. I'm going to have to untick that box when we go off DST manually, but it's not that big of a deal. Only need to do it twice a year :P
