W...T...F...? Seriously... what a contradiction! I mean, they even ask for your birth date when signing up for those things and you don't get caught... and the amount of kids that post on YouTube... I hope they have a good time trying to catch everyone >_>

It's probably just to cover themselves legally.

The "Official Statement" is that if found, they will terminate the account(s).

yes but whats stupid is that if technicly it's only supposed to be people that are 18 and only viewing their sites then why would they bother putting a restricting where you have to put in your birth day to make sure your 18 on some youtube videos meant for adults... kinda stupid

When you are on IRCNode again, ask Surge about the site I got him with xD - over 100 popups while Rick Roll is doing his moves! :)

Google is fail. lol! I don't use youtube, but I use gmail, search, and sometimes news. I'm not 18 (ok so I"m 17 but still) and I'm not gonna wait a year to use them.

Nowadays, children are growing up with information at their fingertips, but many of the times and places they go on-line are not safe. Chat rooms can expose children to unpleasant ideas and leading to horrifying websites. As with all child safety precautions, it is best to work actively with children so they can learn how to navigate the world’s traps and tricks when they are on their own.
yeah you got a point so I can see why they don't want kids on youtube but still :)

I remember reading through the terms of service when this information came out and it didn't really specify an age. It stated that the user must be of legal age to enter into a binding contract.
