Hey guys,

I have a image displayed below that i want to take all the white out and make it the same red as in the background behind the image. I have tried cropping it and just dont look right. Is there any way in photoshop that i can bring in the shade of red over the white so its black and red?

Cheers guys, Dave

1. put photo on his own layer above the background layer
2. change layer blending mode to multiply (everything white will disappear).

or

1. put photo on its own layer (not the background layer)
2. magioc selection tool, tolerance rather low i guess and feather the selection afterwards.
3. press delete
prob will need a lot of tweaking (but so does the other method) but its a good start.

I would probably do it the way Scythar suggested but I also use the extract filter a lot. I think either way it may be tedious to remove the background just because of all the details. BTW, I LOVE your Batman siggy!

duplicate the layer... create a new layer below the duplicated layer... switch off the background layer after you lock it (always keep the original within the working file)... colour fill the new layer with your desired colour... now your duplicated layer with the image on it set it to multiply... also if you want the blacks more intense play around with your levels on that layer
