This is what you do, take the pen tool and draw the path that you want the text to be on then click the text tool and put it over the path the cursor should change click on the path and then it will allow you to write along the path.

then with selection tool you can change the position (put the text further on the path).
flip the figure to change the direction of the text. (right click to have other options too for the text)

Tnx for advice.. Following it I've managed to realize the Elipse object was wrong, and with these imperfect paths I've created this which is to my taste.. How do I export the text created to Cinema 4D?
In other words, how (if at all) do I export the paths?
I tried PS paths and Cinema accepts, but the Extrude option is disabled..
Any thoughts?..

1. convert text to outlines
2. save in Illustrator 5 format (you can go higher, but i wouldnt i you dont need to, compatibility, in my xperience is best in v5 and v8, and none in CS versions)
3. in C4D go to front view or topview depending on you prefs, click open / merge to import the .ai spline(splines DONT render so you NEED the next step), while spline selected alt +click it on "extrude nurbs" object to drop it in and then experiment.

I did follow your kind short guide, and the reason I couldn't extrude it was that I had no idea Hierarchy should always be clicked when splines are exported.. Here is the result, incomplete of course..
A bunch of tnx..
