A new site my friend and I have launched. It is a resource for developers. We're focusing more on teaching softskills that most developers struggle with, but can really help take them to the next level. Still offers some tutorials on other development related skills.
Designed to be clean, with an emphasis on the content (since that IS the most important part of a website). Let us know what you think.

the site looks good. it is very simple and plain but i think you could still add some more to it while keeping it plain. for example, im a lazy person and get scared off easily if there is a lot of text on a page. it would be a nice thing if you added some kind of label or color recognition to your posts by category.
say the development cat is blue, the management is red and tutorials are green and you could make the post title have a bg color of that, or link colors for that, for easy recognition and distinction between the posts in the categories. it doesnt have to be something bold, it could be a very faint background color. but that will help add more color to your site and separate all the text into more groups so its even easier to read.

chad, we're planning on implementing something along those lines - not 100% sure on the design of it yet, however, the categories will be displayed in the left margin of the posts, under the author/post info. Might make these little labels with a coloured background like you said. We'll have to see.
We're trying to make it plain and simple - it is for developers after all. I do agree though, a bit more colour and "pop" in certain areas would be good.
Thanks for the reply.

you should make the header text instead of an image, and also change the text in the menu, there is just something off about it.
good design besides that, very simple and utilitarian. the only complaint design wise i would give it is that it is a little web 2.0/trendwhorish

Hey guys, thanks for your responses and critiques, I'm the other owner of the site (along with Pax).
@rippity rippity
What would you suggest to make it less 2.0ish
