Hi all, brand new here but looking for some opinions/guidence on my own site.

It's a blog/shop that is being built from scratch, hence the early request before everything is 'nailed down' and full of content, so I can improve things now.

I'm not a proper designer (just dabble a bit) but have tried to get some of my personality in there, and not make the design too serious. I've also tried to take into account SEO, accessiblity and standards whilst building it, but there will probably (as always) be a few bugs hiding in there somewhere.

Anyway, I open the floor to pwhitrow.com

Best regards,

Paul

Overall I like it, you've used a nice comic style. My only advice would be not to use Comic Sans as font. Yes, I know it's a comic font, but it looks way too unprofessional. Apart from that, I like it, great job there :)

I agree PSgirl. Everything looks wonderful on the website It's just the font doesn't seem to flow with your website. Great job keep it up!

Thanks both, glad you liked it overall. I take your point about the Comic font, but no other default fonts come close to any kind of comic typography, at least not the way I want it to look. The only one that doesn't look out of place is Trebuchet MS, but I'm not sold on it.

Suggestions welcome (without having to mess around with font replacing scripts!).

Nice - I like it !!

Your banner is sweet.

Would say; sort that font and maybe those buttons, make them into more of a comical theme to fit the website (font wise maybe?).

Also you can tweak the CSS to achieve nice typography, letter spacing and all that

Oh yeah the CSS doesn't validate, but thats just being picky hehe.

Thanks Smashe,

Agree about the buttons... still deciding on what to do with them. The design is progressing so expect more changes as time and ideas move on...
